GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The National Highway Authority (NHA) has completed the emergency restoration of the Haramosh Bridge at RD-25 on the Jaglot-Skardu Road (JSR), restoring traffic after the structure was damaged by heavy monsoon rains.
According to an NHA spokesperson, the bridge has been reopened for all types of traffic following the completion of repair and reconstruction work.
The spokesperson said Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan visited the area on Sunday to review the restoration work and directed officials to complete the repairs on an emergency basis.
Acting on the minister’s instructions, NHA teams completed the restoration work within a short time, allowing the uninterrupted movement of all vehicles on the route.
The authority said it remains committed to restoring and maintaining road connectivity across Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly in areas affected by the ongoing monsoon rains.
