Illegal Tree Cutting: Forest Department Arrests Suspects in Galiyat

ABBOTTABAD: The Forest Department has taken immediate legal action against alleged illegal tree cutting in Khaira Gali Cantt area of Donga Gali Sub-Division, Galiyat Forest Division, Abbottabad.

Following information about the illegal felling of trees, Forest Department personnel promptly reached the site and conducted a detailed inspection of the area. During the inspection, one tree was found to have been illegally cut.

The alleged offenders were arrested on the spot, while a Damage Report was prepared to formally document the loss. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects under the relevant provisions of the Forest Ordinance, 2002.

Following their arrest, the suspects were produced before the Forest Magistrate. The court subsequently sent them on two-day judicial remand.

Authorities have reiterated that violations of forest laws will be dealt with in accordance with the law to safeguard forests and the region’s ecological balance.
