Swat: A sudden flash flood in the Mankiyal area of Bahrain has temporarily disrupted traffic on the Bahrain-Kalam main road, authorities said.
The flash flood occurred at around 1:25pm today, triggering a sudden rise in water and making the main route temporarily impassable.
The road closure has affected connectivity between Bahrain and Kalam, with tourists and local residents advised to exercise extreme caution while travelling through the area.
Authorities have urged the public to avoid unnecessary travel until the situation improves and road access is restored. Tourists in particular have been advised to remain alert and avoid travelling near rivers, streams and other areas vulnerable to sudden flooding.
The public has also been asked to follow safety instructions and advisories issued by relevant government departments and local authorities.
The incident highlights the continuing risk of flash floods in the mountainous areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall. Such floods can occur suddenly and may cause road blockages, damage infrastructure and create serious risks for motorists and tourists.
Authorities are expected to monitor the situation and take necessary measures to restore safe road connectivity as conditions permit.
