Ethiopia’s government has realized the aspirations of its people by obtaining access to the sea, which is crucial for regional integration, peace, and prosperity, according to the remarks made on Wednesday by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The Ambassador stated that Ethiopia is demonstrating its strong commitment to regional integration, collective peace, security, and socioeconomic development by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for sea access with the Government of Somaliland.
He asserted that as he has already received the Nobel Peace Prize for his unwavering commitment to prosperity and peace, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the prime minister of FDR Ethiopia, should receive all the credit for this innovation.
H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, according to the ambassador, has a distinct vision for Ethiopia’s future as well as that of all of Africa and the world.
The envoy claims that Ethiopia already maintains close relations and resource sharing with its neighboring neighbors in Africa. According to him, Ethiopia is currently exporting energy to Sudan, Kenya, and Djibouti, which is significantly promoting regional integration and growth.
According to the ambassador, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project is almost complete and will generate more than 5,150 megawatts of power in addition to assisting Ethiopia in its efforts to foster wealth and regional growth.
Ambassador Jemal Beker expressed gratitude to H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi, the president of Somaliland, for his support of Ethiopia’s attempts to obtain access to the sea.
