PESHAWAR: Director General Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tariq Ali Khan (PMS BS-20) visited the EPA KP Central Laboratory at the Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI), Peshawar, to review its analytical facilities and ongoing environmental monitoring activities.
During the visit, the DG inspected various sections of the laboratory and reviewed the available equipment, analytical facilities and routine laboratory operations.
He was briefed that the Central Laboratory is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art instruments, which are fully functional and being effectively utilised for environmental monitoring, testing and scientific analysis.
The DG appreciated the professional management of the laboratory, cleanliness and maintenance standards, as well as the efforts of laboratory staff in carrying out their assigned responsibilities.
He commended the team for maintaining reliable analytical services that support the regulatory and monitoring functions of EPA KP.
The Central Laboratory plays an important role in strengthening environmental governance in the province by providing scientific data and analysis for evidence-based environmental decision-making.
Its analytical capacity supports the identification and assessment of environmental issues and helps relevant authorities develop appropriate regulatory and environmental protection measures.
The DG’s visit also highlighted the importance of maintaining modern laboratory infrastructure, technical capacity and professional standards to strengthen environmental monitoring and protection efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
