GUJRANWALA, September 7, 2026: The Environmental Protection Force (EPF) Gujranwala has launched a major enforcement operation against illegal pyrolysis plants operating in violation of environmental regulations and court directions.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Commissioner Gujranwala Muhammad Ali and Deputy Commissioner Gujranwala Naveed Ahmed. Acting on the instructions of Deputy Director Environment Gujranwala Engineer Muhammad Imran Mayo, Assistant Director Environment Naveed Ahmed, accompanied by the Environmental Protection Force, carried out action against illegal pyrolysis units in the Santpura Sadho ki area of Tehsil Kamoke.
During the operation, four pyrolysis plants were sealed and FIRs were registered against their owners.
The sealed units were identified as:
- Rana Tasawwur Pyro Plant, Santpura Sadhoki, Tehsil Kamoke
- Usman Jaffer Pyro Plant, Santpura Sadhoki, Tehsil Kamoke
- Adnan Jaffer Pyro Plant, Santpura Sadhoki, Tehsil Kamoke
- Muhammad Khan Pyro Plant, Santpura Sadhoki
Environmental authorities said the enforcement action was undertaken in response to violations of environmental laws and directions issued by the High Court.
Deputy Director Environment Muhammad Imran Mayo warned operators of illegal pyrolysis plants that such activities would not be allowed to continue and that strict action would be taken against those found operating in violation of environmental regulations.
The operation forms part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s broader efforts to strengthen enforcement against environmentally hazardous industrial activities and protect communities from pollution.
Officials reiterated that industrial units must comply with applicable environmental laws and obtain the required approvals before commencing operations.
The authorities further indicated that enforcement operations would continue against illegal and non-compliant industrial units across the district.
