DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The Southern Directorate of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has conducted an environmental monitoring campaign along Circular Road in Dera Ismail Khan.
The activity was carried out on the directives of the Director General EPA KP. During the campaign, EPA officials inspected several BBQ points, hotels and commercial food outlets to check smoke emissions, waste management practices and compliance with environmental requirements.
The officials sensitized business owners and operators about environmental safeguards and issued necessary instructions to improve practices and reduce pollution.
The EPA team also inspected ongoing road rehabilitation and construction activities in the area. Officials monitored measures for controlling dust emissions and reducing other environmental impacts associated with construction work.
The monitoring campaign is part of EPA KP’s efforts to control pollution sources, improve urban environmental conditions and ensure compliance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Act, 2014.
The agency said it would continue environmental monitoring and enforcement activities across the province to promote cleaner and more sustainable urban environments.
