KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Salim Rajput has launched a campaign targeting illegal profits that has resulted in fines being imposed on 234 individuals.
Stressing on strict adherence to government approved prices, Commissioner Rajput directed district administration officials to ensure compliance.
The commissioner’s office revealed that a comprehensive crackdown on profiteers has been launched in all districts of Karachi, resulting in fines totaling Rs 13,90,000.
In the South district, 40 profiteers faced fines of Rs 336,500, while in the East district, fines of Rs 305,000 were imposed on 11 individuals.
Malir district witnessed fines of Rs 219,000 imposed on 69 traders. In the Central district, 29 individuals faced penalties of Rs 267,000 and 27 traders in the West district were fined a total of Rs 73,000.
In Keamari district, action was taken against 28 profiteers, resulting in fines of Rs 65,000. At the same time, Korangi district witnessed a fine of Rs 23,500 imposed on 30 individuals.
This concerted effort by Commissioner Muhammad Salim Rajput reflects the government’s commitment to curb illegal profiteering and ensure fair pricing practices.

The fines imposed send a clear signal that violations will not be tolerated and that individuals who engage in such activities will face consequences.
