Central Forest Conservator Reviews Forestry Activities and Nursery in Mohmand

GHALLANAI, MOHMAND, September 17, 2026: Conservator Central Circle Region-I, Peshawar, Shah Hussain visited Mohmand Forest Division in Ghallanai to review ongoing forestry activities and future plans.

The Conservator was received by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Mohmand along with divisional staff at his office. A detailed presentation was given on the division’s ongoing activities and future planning.

During the visit, Shah Hussain planted a Ficus sapling at the DFO office, highlighting the importance of plantation and the development of green spaces.

He also inspected the departmental nursery at Aqrab Daag Bala, where a range of forest, ornamental and fruit species are being raised for plantation activities.

Species raised in tubes include Phulai, Kikar, Ber, Albizia and Eucalyptus, while bare-rooted species include Shisham, Poplar, Willow and Bakain.

The nursery also contains ornamental plants such as Oleander, Bottlebrush, Kachnar, Terminalia, Moringa and Alstonia.

Fruit species being raised at the nursery include lemon, guava, pomegranate, grapes and loquat, providing options for both environmental and community-focused plantation activities.

During the visit, the Conservator issued directions on various aspects of departmental interventions and emphasized effective implementation of forestry activities.

He appreciated the efforts and teamwork of the Mohmand Forest Division staff and encouraged continued work to strengthen forest management and plantation initiatives in the area.

The development of diverse nurseries is important for supporting local plantation programmes, improving vegetation cover and contributing to long-term environmental conservation and climate resilience.
