RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir on Tuesday held talks with a delegation of World Liberty Financial USA, as Pakistan continues to draw interest from international firms exploring opportunities in digital finance and financial technology.

The delegation, led by World Liberty Financial Chief Executive Officer Zachary Witkoff, discussed Pakistan’s economic outlook, the expansion of financial inclusion, and prospects for technology-driven financial services, according to officials familiar with the meeting.

Participants highlighted the potential of digital platforms to support cross-border transactions and improve efficiency in areas such as remittances and trade-related payments. The discussion was described as part of ongoing engagements aimed at understanding Pakistan’s regulatory environment and reform priorities.

The meeting followed recent government initiatives to modernise payment systems and reduce reliance on cash, with officials stressing that technology would play a key role in improving transparency and strengthening confidence among investors and financial institutions.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir underscored Pakistan’s commitment to economic resilience and stability, noting that responsible private sector participation can complement national development goals when pursued within established legal and regulatory frameworks.

Authorities reiterated that the engagement was consultative in nature and did not involve any financial or contractual commitments.
