Islamabad : Capital Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Alibaba Medical AI to introduce artificial intelligence (AI)-based screening solutions in imaging radiology.
The signing ceremony was held at Capital Hospital and attended by Executive Director Dr. Muhammad Naeem Taj, senior doctors of the hospital, and representatives of Alibaba Medical AI. The initiative is part of the vision of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa and is being implemented under the guidance of CDA Member Administration Talat Mahmood to modernize public healthcare facilities.
Under the partnership, advanced AI technologies will be integrated into the Radiology Department of Capital Hospital to enhance image interpretation and screening processes. The initiative aims to improve diagnostic accuracy, enable early disease detection, increase workflow efficiency, and raise the overall standard of patient care.
AI-based radiology solutions will assist medical professionals by providing precise analysis of medical images, thereby strengthening clinical decision-making. The introduction of these systems is also expected to reduce reporting time and improve departmental performance. The project reflects CDA’s commitment to promoting digital innovation and improving service delivery in public health institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naeem Taj said that, on the directions of the CDA chairman, the collaboration represents a forward-looking step towards improving public healthcare services at Capital Hospital. He added that patients would benefit from the latest medical technologies, while doctors would gain access to reliable diagnostic tools.
He further stated that the MoU with Alibaba Medical AI demonstrates Capital Hospital’s alignment with CDA leadership’s strategic vision of adopting modern digital healthcare practices and continuously improving patient outcomes through innovation. The use of advanced technology and artificial intelligence, he said, is a welcome development for providing better medical facilities to citizens.
Dr. Taj expressed confidence that with the inclusion of this technology, Capital Hospital would soon be counted among the country’s leading healthcare institutions.
