ATTOCK, Aug. 4: Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Attock and Managing Director of the Suthra Punjab Agency, Anil Saeed, chaired a review meeting to assess the agency’s performance and evaluate sanitation and drainage arrangements across the district in view of the ongoing monsoon season.
The meeting was attended by officials from relevant departments and representatives of the Suthra Punjab Agency, who reviewed the district’s overall cleanliness situation, ongoing sanitation operations, public complaint resolution mechanism, and preparedness for heavy rainfall.
Officials briefed the meeting on the performance of the sanitation system, available machinery, workforce deployment, and measures taken at vulnerable locations to ensure uninterrupted waste management and drainage services during the monsoon.
Addressing the participants, Anil Saeed directed all concerned departments to ensure the timely clearance of drains, sewer lines, and stormwater channels to facilitate the smooth flow of rainwater and prevent urban flooding. He instructed field teams to remain fully active throughout the monsoon season and ensure that machinery and emergency response personnel are available at all times to tackle any unforeseen situation.
He emphasized that maintaining high standards of cleanliness in Attock, in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Suthra Punjab” vision, remains one of the district administration’s top priorities. He said all available resources should be utilized to provide residents with a clean and healthy environment, adding that no compromise would be made on sanitation standards.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner also directed Suthra Punjab Agency officials to ensure the prompt resolution of public complaints, strengthen field monitoring, and continuously oversee sanitation and drainage operations during the monsoon season to minimize inconvenience to residents.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by the district administration, the Suthra Punjab Agency, and all relevant departments to work in close coordination to enhance sanitation services, improve drainage management, and ensure the provision of efficient municipal services during the ongoing monsoon rains.
