Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has revealed that the 2005 comedy blockbuster ‘Garam Masala’ was the toughest film of his career.
In an interview, Akshay revealed that working on this film was a difficult task. According to Indian media, Akshay cited director Priyadarshan’s long takes as the main obstacle.
“I often ran out of breath during the shoot; it was like acting in a theater production,” he admitted.
This was made difficult by the director’s method of shooting many character scenes in one take. According to Akshay, some shots took up to ten minutes and required more energy than the dance or action scenes.
“Garam Masala”, which debuted in 2005, centers on Akshay’s character “Mac” who manages relationships with multiple women at the same time before being caught by his friend “Sam” (John Abraham). The film stars Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Neha Dhupia and Rajpal Yadav.
Akshay Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently confined to his home. He is following his doctor’s instructions for a speedy recovery.
Kumar’s sustained success has been helped by hit films across genres, including romantic dramas like Namastey London, action films like Airlift and comedies like the Housefull series. He has received several honors for his services to Indian cinema, including the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth highest civilian award.
Despite being in his 50s, Kumar is still one of Bollywood’s finest actors, consistently hitting the box office with his distinct blend of comedy, drama and action. Akshay Kumar has cemented his status as one of the greatest performers of his generation through his dedication to physical fitness, self-discipline and readiness to tackle challenging roles.
