A farmer’s family in the Amreli district of Gujarat, India, has become the center of attention due to an unusual act. According to Indian media, the family held a grand ceremony to bury their “lucky” car.
On Thursday, a ceremony was organized by farmer Sanjay Polara and his family in their village, which was attended by nearly 1,500 people, including religious figures and devotees.
According to reports, Sanjay Polara and his family performed religious rituals at their farm, and a 15-foot deep pit was dug to bury their 12-year-old car. The car was decorated with flowers and garlands and was ceremoniously taken to the pit, covered with green cloth. During the event, Sanjay’s family performed prayers and offered flowers on the car.
Indian media also mentioned that during the event, pandits (priests) and other individuals recited religious mantras, and after all the rituals, an excavator was used to fill the pit with soil and bury the car.
The ceremony cost around 400,000 rupees.
Sanjay Polara, who runs a construction business in Surat, explained that he wanted to do something different so that future generations could remember the car that had been lucky for their family.
He shared that he had bought the car almost 12 years ago, and since then, the family experienced prosperity, business success, and an increase in respect. The car was very lucky for him and his family, and instead of selling it, he decided to keep it on his farm.
Sanjay also mentioned that he plans to plant a tree at the burial site to remind future generations that the family’s lucky car is buried beneath the tree.
