WASHINGTON: US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said on Wednesday that the formation of Pakistan’s new government remains an internal matter and that the US will not interfere in the country’s internal affairs.
The Foreign Office spokesperson reiterated this stance during a press conference on a question regarding alleged electoral irregularities in the 2024 general elections in Pakistan held on 8
Miller said the U.S. “has made it clear that it wants any allegations of impropriety to be investigated.”
The statements come amid debate over the US stance on Pakistan’s electoral process and its integrity during the 2024 general elections.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said in a recent briefing that they were “not aware of any post-election bilateral messages” exchanged between the two countries.
“We have expressed these concerns privately and publicly. The United States, along with [the European Union], [the United Kingdom] and other countries, have called on the Pakistani government to respect the will of the voters,” Miller said.
