Islamabad’s air quality sees improvement following fresh rainfall

ISLAMABAD: After a break of 5 hours, it started raining again in Islamabad and Rawalpindi at around 6.20 am as dark clouds started gathering over the twin cities.
The rainfall in the federal capital dispelled the lingering fog and improved visibility significantly. The improvement follows several instances of rain in the capital during the week.

Currently, Islamabad’s air quality index appears to have improved following the rain, with data from some weather forecasting platforms indicating a reduction in air pollution in the capital.
As of 6:30 AM, the temperature in Islamabad was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius and regular rainfall is expected after 10:00 AM, according to AccuWeather.
This positive shift in air quality is a promising development considering that Islamabad has been grappling with poor air quality, which was earlier categorized as ‘unhealthy’, for several weeks. However, AccuWeather now classifies the air quality as “fair”.
