Microsoft brings its AI-powered Microsoft Office features to consumers with the introduction of Copilot Pro.
Just two months after its initial enterprise launch, Copilot Pro gives users access to AI-enhanced features in Office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, available today as a $20 monthly subscription.
Subscribers also have priority access to the latest OpenAI models and the ability to build their own Copilot GPT.
For existing Microsoft 365 Personal or Home subscribers, Copilot unlocks an additional $20 per person per month in Office apps on Mac, Windows, and iPad.
Copilot Pro features include the ability to generate complex PowerPoint slide decks through a chatbot-like interface, as well as Copilot’s integrated Word capabilities for paragraph paraphrasing, text generation, and document summarization.

Copilot extends its functionality to Outlook.com, helping users create replies to emails or generate new ones. Additionally, there is a preview version available in Excel that offers the ability to analyze data, generate graphs, and perform various other tasks.
The move demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to bringing advanced AI capabilities to a wider consumer audience.
While consumers gain access to a number of advanced AI features in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint through Copilot Pro, limitations in Graph technology temporarily limit the seamless transition of document content to presentation slides.
Microsoft aims to bridge this functionality gap as it continues to improve Copilot for consumer users and provide insight into the evolving landscape of AI-based productivity tools for a broader user base.
