LARKANA: The Green Sindh Foundation, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Moen Jo Daro, has launched tree plantation activities in various areas of Naudero and Madeji, including educational institutions, as part of efforts to combat climate change, reduce environmental impacts and promote a greener Sindh.
The plantation campaign aims to expand green cover in both urban and rural communities, help mitigate rising temperatures and raise public awareness about the importance of trees in protecting the environment.
Green Sindh Foundation Founder Zulfiqar Magsi and members of the Rotary Club’s Board of Governors, including Chaudhry Fahad Sikandar, Furqan Ali Sheikh, Abdul Jabbar Sheikh, Dr Diyali Gul Sindhu, Dr Mukhtiar Sheikh and Mohsin Raza Jalbani, participated in the initiative alongside other members.

Speaking on the occasion, the participants said tree plantation was an important measure for addressing climate change and its environmental consequences. They stressed the need to combine practical plantation activities with public awareness campaigns to encourage communities to take an active role in environmental protection.
They called for expanding the initiative to cities, towns and villages across Sindh, with large numbers of saplings planted to increase green cover and contribute to a healthier environment.
The Rotary Club Moen Jo Daro and the Green Sindh Foundation also announced their commitment to working together to expand the Green Sindh Plantation Campaign across the province.
During the event, Zulfiqar Magsi presented Green Hero Awards to Rotary Club representatives in recognition of their contributions and services to tree plantation and environmental protection.
The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between civil society organisations, community groups and educational institutions in promoting sustainable environmental practices and building climate-resilient communities across Sindh.
