THATTA: The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) has launched a plantation drive at Army Public School Thatta under the Recovery and Climate Resilience in Flood-Affected Areas of Pakistan (RENEW) Project.
The initiative aims to promote environmental protection and strengthen awareness about climate resilience among students.
The plantation activity also encouraged young people to take practical responsibility for protecting and restoring their local environment. By involving students in tree planting and care, such initiatives can help build long-term environmental awareness and community participation.
Trees and green spaces can provide shade, support biodiversity, improve local environmental conditions and contribute to more resilient communities, particularly in areas affected by climate-related disasters.
