FAISALABAD: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Faisalabad team has inspected 29 industrial units to check compliance with the Smog Prevention and Control Rules, 2023, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce air pollution and protect public health.
According to the EPA, its surveillance squads visited various industrial units during the enforcement drive. The teams issued 10 notices and imposed fines totalling Rs200,000 for violations.
The department said its surveillance teams are continuing field inspections to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and prevent pollution from industrial activities.
The EPA reiterated its message: “No SOPs, No Operation,” stressing that industrial units must follow the required standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The enforcement campaign aims to improve compliance with smog control measures and reduce pollution that can affect the health of local communities.
