LAHORE, September 7, 2026: Secretary Planning & Development (P&D) Board Punjab, Rafaqat Ali, chaired a meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Mission to review ongoing and pipeline municipal development projects under the Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Project (PICIIP), DREAMS-I, and the proposed DREAMS-II.
The meeting focused on reviewing project progress, identifying implementation bottlenecks and exploring measures to ensure the timely completion of ongoing schemes and effective execution of upcoming projects.
Officials discussed municipal development initiatives aimed at improving essential urban services and strengthening infrastructure in Punjab’s intermediate cities. Particular attention was given to climate-resilient infrastructure, reflecting the growing need for cities to better withstand climate-related risks and environmental pressures.
The participants also reviewed the pipeline of proposed projects and emphasized the importance of effective coordination among relevant stakeholders to address administrative and implementation challenges.
The collaboration between the P&D Board and ADB is expected to support improvements in municipal services and urban infrastructure while promoting more resilient and sustainable development across Punjab’s intermediate cities.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on accelerating implementation, resolving outstanding bottlenecks and maintaining momentum on projects designed to improve the quality and resilience of urban services in the province.
