RAWALPINDI, September 5, 2026: Managing Director Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi Rana Sajid Safdar visited Tehsil Gujar Khan to review ongoing sanitation operations, waste enclosures, transfer collection points (TCPs) and the dumping station.
During the detailed field visit, the MD inspected sanitation arrangements, waste collection and disposal mechanisms at various locations and directed officers and field staff to further improve cleanliness standards.
Manager Operations District Rawalpindi Aamir Younas Naik, Tehsil Manager Operations Umair Qureshi and Manager Contractors Kamran Amjad briefed the MD on ongoing sanitation operations and accompanied him during inspections of different areas.
MD Reviews Market Cleanliness
Rana Sajid Safdar also visited several markets in Gujar Khan, where he interacted with shopkeepers and residents and sought their feedback and suggestions regarding sanitation services.
Citizens and members of the business community expressed satisfaction with the cleanliness situation in the city and appreciated the efforts of the Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi.
Speaking during the visit, Rana Sajid Safdar said improving sanitation standards across Gujar Khan and other areas of Rawalpindi district was among the agency’s top priorities.
He said field operations were being continuously monitored to ensure residents had access to a clean and healthy environment.
The MD directed sanitation workers to ensure the timely removal of garbage and maintain high cleanliness standards in markets and other important public places. He also instructed officials to strengthen waste collection and transportation arrangements and promptly address complaints received from citizens.
He urged traders and residents to cooperate with the agency and refrain from dumping waste on roads, in markets and at public places.

Rana Sajid Safdar said all available resources would be utilized to achieve the zero-waste target, adding that no compromise would be made on cleanliness standards in the field.
He emphasized that the Suthra Punjab initiative was not limited to sanitation operations but also aimed at creating public awareness and establishing a sustainable and effective waste-management system.
Anti-Smog Awareness Campaign
Meanwhile, the Communication Team of Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi conducted a cleanliness and anti-smog awareness campaign in Gujar Khan.
The team distributed informational pamphlets among shopkeepers and residents and briefed them about the causes of smog, the harmful effects of environmental pollution and preventive measures that can help reduce pollution.
Citizens were also informed about the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139, the Suthra Punjab Citizen App and the agency’s social media platforms for lodging sanitation-related complaints.
The communication team urged residents to report sanitation issues promptly through the available platforms so that complaints could be addressed without unnecessary delay.
Rana Sajid Safdar said the agency would continue field operations alongside large-scale public awareness campaigns in line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Suthra Punjab vision, stressing that officers and workers must perform their responsibilities with dedication and commitment to provide citizens with improved sanitation services.
