GUJRAT/WAZIRABAD: The Wildlife Department has continued its enforcement operations against illegal hunting, with a team in Wazirabad apprehending a hunter allegedly involved in the illegal hunting of quail.
Acting on the directions of Deputy Chief Wildlife Ranger Gujrat Region Arfa Batool and Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Gujrat Qasim Shah, Senior Wildlife Ranger Wazirabad Muhammad Zahid and Wildlife Ranger Wazirabad District Rana Muhammad Nauman conducted an enforcement operation against illegal hunting.
The wildlife officials caught the alleged hunter at the spot along with hunting equipment and initiated legal proceedings under the relevant wildlife laws.
Following a request submitted by the accused, Assistant Chief Wildlife Ranger Gujrat Qasim Shah imposed a departmental compensation of Rs60,000 in the case.
The Wildlife Department reiterated its commitment to enforcing wildlife protection laws and curbing illegal hunting to safeguard native bird species and biodiversity.
Officials urged the public to refrain from illegal hunting and cooperate with wildlife teams in protecting the region’s natural resources.
