ISLAMABAD: As their summer camp concluded, BS Forestry students organized a cleanliness drive to give back to the natural environment that had hosted them during their activities.

Under the message “Leaving Footprints, Not Garbage,” the students worked together to clean the area, ensuring that plastic waste and other litter were removed and no corner was overlooked.

The activity highlighted an important aspect of environmental responsibility: protecting nature goes beyond planting trees and conducting plantation campaigns. It also requires communities to respect natural spaces, prevent littering and take responsibility for the waste they generate.

The young forestry students demonstrated their commitment by leading the cleanup themselves, turning their environmental education into practical action.

The initiative also reinforced the message that forestry education is not limited to understanding forests, trees and ecosystems, but also involves developing a lasting sense of responsibility towards the land and environment.

The students emphasized that the only footprints they want to leave behind are those of positive action, environmental care and responsible citizenship, rather than garbage and plastic waste.
