LAHORE: The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Punjab held a consultative session with registered non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and non-profit organizations (NPOs) at the Center for Knowledge Exchange & Policy Dialogue (CKE&PD) to strengthen collaboration between the government and civil society.
The session focused on identifying practical areas of cooperation between EPA Punjab and civil society organizations, particularly in promoting environmental protection, public awareness and community engagement.
Participants shared valuable recommendations on environmental priorities and discussed ways to enhance public participation in environmental initiatives across the province.
The meeting also explored the establishment of a structured mechanism for coordination, information sharing and future collaboration between EPA Punjab and registered NGOs and NPOs.
Officials emphasized that effective environmental protection requires meaningful cooperation among government institutions, civil society, communities and other stakeholders.
The consultative initiative is expected to help translate environmental priorities into coordinated community-level action and strengthen efforts to build a greener, healthier and more environmentally resilient Punjab.
