ABBOTTABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA), Hazara Division, on Thursday destroyed a large quantity of unsafe, substandard, counterfeit, and expired food items seized during inspection and enforcement operations across the division.
The confiscated products were disposed of in accordance with legal procedures in the presence of Regional Director Mubashir Manzoor and Deputy Director (Headquarters) Rehman Gul, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring the availability of safe and halal food.
The destroyed items included fake honey, counterfeit beverages sold under various brand names, China salt, Talbina, biscuits, packing rolls, pops, and other substandard and expired food products that had been confiscated from food businesses during routine inspections.
Speaking on the occasion, Regional Director Mubashir Manzoor said the destruction of the seized products reflects the authority’s zero-tolerance policy against food safety violations that endanger public health. He urged food business operators to strictly comply with food safety regulations, warning that strict legal action would continue against anyone involved in the production, storage, or sale of unsafe food products.
He added that inspection and monitoring activities would continue across Hazara Division to ensure consumers have access to safe, high-quality, and halal food products.
Deputy Director Rehman Gul emphasized that protecting public health remains the authority’s top priority, adding that the manufacture, storage, and sale of substandard, unsafe, or expired food items will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
