CHAKWAL, Aug. 4: Deputy Commissioner Sarah Hayat chaired a follow-up meeting to review progress on the installation of water filtration plants across Chakwal, reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water for all residents.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority (Clean Water Authority) and WASA, who presented a detailed review of the proposed locations and implementation plan for the water filtration plants.
During the meeting, officials identified areas where coverage of water filtration facilities remains inadequate. The Deputy Commissioner directed the relevant departments to conduct additional field surveys and technical assessments of these locations and submit a comprehensive plan within the next few days to ensure effective and equitable coverage throughout the city.
Sarah Hayat emphasized that the project should be planned in a way that guarantees every resident equal access to clean and safe drinking water, regardless of their location. She also instructed the departments to incorporate future population growth and long-term water demand into the planning process to ensure the sustainability of the initiative.
The district administration reiterated its commitment to improving public services and strengthening access to safe drinking water as part of its broader efforts to enhance public health and urban infrastructure in Chakwal.
