ARIFWALA, Aug. 3: A tree plantation ceremony was organized at the RESCO Office in Arifwala as part of the Punjab government’s ongoing afforestation campaign aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and combating climate change.
The event was held in line with the vision of the Government of Punjab and on the directives of Divisional Chief Forest Officer (DCF) Sahiwal, Malik Nafees Ahmed.
Assistant Commissioner Arifwala, Subia Falak Rao, attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while RESCO Safety Officer Muhammad Mursaleen also participated in the plantation drive.
Officials from the Forest Department, including Forest Protection Officer Arifwala Zafar Khan Lodhi, Forest Inspector Chaudhry Naveed Ahmad, Forest Ranger Allah Rakha, and Forest Ranger Muhammad Javed, joined the chief guest and other participants in planting saplings to promote a greener environment.
Speaking on the occasion, participants emphasized the importance of tree plantation in addressing the challenges of climate change, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, and creating a healthier environment for future generations. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Punjab government’s green initiatives through sustained afforestation efforts.
The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer for the success of the plantation campaign and for Pakistan’s prosperity, peace, and environmental sustainability.
