A man in Eastern China has been arrested for using hundreds of mobile phones at once to earn millions of rupees monthly through live streaming rewards.
The individual, from Jiangsu province, operated over 400 smartphones simultaneously, attempting to win rewards by participating in live streams. He was caught in a small garage within a residential building. A concerned elderly passerby noticed unusual activity in the garage and reported it to the police.
The suspect admitted that all his phones were linked to streaming platform accounts, allowing him to increase his chances of winning “lucky bags” by accessing a live stream. In China, one can only send a single message from one phone to win a lucky bag.
Through this method, he was earning between 10,000 to 20,000 yuan (approximately 385,000 to 770,000 Pakistani rupees) monthly.
While the police have not disclosed the specific punishment, under Chinese law, the crime can result in a sentence of up to three years in prison or a fine.
