‘Unsung heroes’: How pharmacists contribute to global health

As we step into the pharmacy – regularly after surviving an extended, hard wait at our physician’s clinic – feeling worn-out and clutching our prescription like a golden price ticket, we’re already dreaming of having again home as quickly as possible.

But that bubble bursts quick while we stroll into the drugstore, greeted by means of yet any other long queue. To make matters worse, the man or woman behind the counter isn’t as rapid as we’d like them to be – absolutely immersed in the prescription in front of them, asking reputedly pointless questions, choosing up the phone now and then to call the medical doctor.

Just when it looks like they’re subsequently completed, they sit down down and start explaining the medications to the patient, no matter the dying stares they’re receiving from others for “losing” even more time.

In that precise second, as our impatience boils and we feel enraged with the aid of their gradual tempo and perceived unprofessionalism, we’d marvel why they can’t just give up the medicines speedy and be accomplished with it.
