PRCS, Turkish Red Crescent organise joint blood donation drive in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), in partnership with Turkish Red Crescent, held a blood donation drive at the Embassy of Türkiye in Islamabad to promote voluntary blood donation and support healthcare needs.

The initiative saw participation from diplomats and embassy staff, including Dr Irfan Neziroğlu, who donated blood along with other officials. Organisers said the drive aimed to encourage community participation in lifesaving efforts and strengthen humanitarian collaboration.

The event was attended by Farzhana Naek and Beyza Taner, alongside representatives from both organisations.

Officials said the initiative reflects ongoing cooperation between the two national societies and their shared commitment to supporting vulnerable communities through joint humanitarian efforts.

Participants highlighted the importance of voluntary blood donation in ensuring the availability of safe blood for patients, particularly during times of increased demand.

PRCS officials reiterated their commitment to expanding partnerships and promoting public awareness to strengthen blood donation networks across Pakistan.
