The incident, in which Qamar was the victim of alleged extortion and blackmail, sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with many criticizing the playwright. Iffat Umar, however, took a different stand.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Umar addressed the matter without directly naming Qamar, saying, “The people you keep criticizing and disrespecting are the only ones standing up for you now.
The actress further highlighted the issue of privacy, saying, “I have nothing against two consenting adults engaging in private acts. Their bodies, their choice.”

Iffat Umar, known for her feminist views, has been a vocal critic of Qamar’s past misogynistic remarks. In this case, however, she drew a line between personal opinions and the right to privacy.
“I never resorted to personal attacks against him,” Umar explained in an earlier interview. “He crossed the line by publicly insulting a woman, which I strongly condemn.
