Prince William, 42, received a hefty $30 million income from his Duchy of Cornwall property during the 2023-2024 financial year, multiple outlets report.
The estate, which William inherited from his father King Charles III when he ascended the throne in September 2022, produced a distributable surplus of £23.6 million ($30.4 million) from its investments, according to the latest integrated annual report .
William was given the title of Duke of Cornwall. The Duchy of Cornwall, worth over $1 billion, is supposed to finance the lives of the heirs to the throne. The officially private estate supports Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their three children in their “official, charitable and private activities”.
Founded in 1337 by King Edward III, the duchy covers approximately 205 square miles across the United Kingdom and includes arable and livestock farms, residential and commercial properties, forests, rivers, quarries and the coast.
The report also highlighted William’s new roles and titles. In addition, William now has authority over the Welsh Guards charity and the Royal Cornwall Agricultural Association.
He was also appointed president of the Victoria Cross and George Cross Association, which awards the highest military decoration to civilians and military personnel.
William stepped down as President of Fields in Trust to become Patron. Fields in Trust is an organization dedicated to the conservation of parks and green spaces in Great Britain.
