The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has declared a public holiday on 1 Muharram to mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year.
The announcement was made through a notice issued by the Department of Administration on Thursday.
The news said that all government offices, educational institutions, and businesses will be closed today to observe the significance of the first month of the Islamic calendar.
