Overseas Pakistanis to Benefit from Online Property Transfer Facility: Salik

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Chaudhry Salik Hussain stated that overseas Pakistanis are ambassadors of the country. Overseas Pakistanis will benefit from an online facility for property transfer. Initially, Pakistanis from the USA, UK, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Italy, and Spain will be able to access this facility. Property transfer complaints will be resolved within 20 days. 2000 IT-skilled people will be sent to Japan. Asylum seekers bring the country into disrepute. Efforts are being made to strengthen the country’s institutions.

He expressed these views yesterday during a briefing session at the OPF headquarters. He further stated that Overseas Pakistanis will be able to transfer property from abroad. Most complaints from overseas Pakistanis are related to property transfer. They will now be able to benefit from the online transfer facility. The problems with the power of attorney will also be resolved. He also stated that Pakistanis should not go abroad, illegally.

“We approach SIFC for any investment worth 30-40 million $. If factories are set up in our country, Pakistanis would not need to go abroad,” he said. He emphasized that the government and institutions should stand on their own feet.

He also informed that the Mayor of New York has assured that more and more Pakistanis will be given priority in the paramedical field. Training will be provided to Pakistanis going abroad because they are our ambassadors. Every year, 700,000 to 800,000 Pakistanis go to foreign countries. There are about 20,000 Pakistanis in prisons abroad.
