At least 35 people have been killed in two rain-related incidents in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu over the past week.
According to Al Jazeera’s report, Raman S., a senior official of the disaster department in the state, said that these incidents have been reported from different districts of the state since December 17. Thousands of people have been rescued after roads and areas were flooded following heavy rains in several districts of the southern state, officials said. Rain and floods disrupted daily life after Cyclone Michaung hit the state earlier this month, killing at least 12 people.
On the other hand, the Indian Air Force, which is engaged in a humanitarian disaster relief mission in the state, said that the operation continued for the fifth day in southern Tamil Nadu affected by landslides and floods.
