YouTube has released an improved takedown tool that makes it easier for content creators to remove any copyrighted music from their videos.
Creators could remove copyrighted music without affecting any other audio, including dialogue or sound effects in videos.
“Good news, creators: our updated Erase Song tool makes it easy to remove copyrighted music from your video (and leave the rest of the audio intact),” YouTube CEO Neal Mohan wrote about the tool on X. .
Google’s giant video streaming platform, YouTube, explained that while it has been experimenting with the eraser tool for some time, it may have been more successful in erasing copyrighted music.
Meanwhile, YouTube’s new tool uses an AI-powered algorithm to accurately identify and remove copyrighted audio from a video without affecting any other audio in the movie.
However, YouTube warns that sometimes the algorithm may not be able to remove a song.
“This edit may not work if the track is difficult to remove. If this tool does not successfully unclaim the video, you can try other editing options, such as muting all audio in the claimed segments or cropping the claimed segments,” the company said.
Instead of eliminating certain audio from their videos, creators can mute it in these sections if there are copyright issues. This resolves the flagging of the copyright infringement complaint raised by YouTube’s automatic detection of copyrighted content.
