South African batter sets new ODI debut record

Lahore: In the second match of the tri-series, South African batter Matthew Breetzke set a new record in ODI cricket by scoring 150 runs on his debut.

In the match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, South Africa batted first and set a target of 305 runs for New Zealand.

Matthew Breetzke’s debut innings of 150 runs was the highlight, while Wiaan Mulder scored 64 and Jason Smith added 41 runs.

For New Zealand, Matt Henry and Will O’Rourke took 2 wickets each.

It is noteworthy that in the first match of the tri-series, New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 78 runs.

New Zealand had set a target of 331 runs, and Pakistan was bowled out for 252.
