PM to hold consultation over federal cabinet with allied parties

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host a dinner in honor of PML-N and affiliated parties.

The dinner will be held at the Prime Minister’s house. Leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will attend the dinner.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host this reception for the coalition government parties.

Sources said the future course of action will be discussed at the event keeping in view the prevailing political situation. All members will be given confidence in the election of the President. Party leaders will also be consulted on the formation of the federal cabinet.

Earlier, newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was sworn in by President Arif Alvi here at the Presidency.

Shehbaz previously served as prime minister of a coalition government from April 2022 to August 2023 before parliament was dissolved last month to hold a general election.

President Arif Alvi administered the oath to Shehbaz at a ceremony. Army chief Gen Asim Munir, outgoing caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, chief ministers and governors attended the ceremony.
