Flight operations resume at Peshawar airport after fire incident

After a brief disruption due to the fire, operations at Peshawar’s Bacha Khan International Airport have returned to normal.

Officials confirmed that all flights, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), have resumed their schedules as usual.

Thursday’s runway closure, caused by a fire on a Saudi Airlines flight, temporarily disrupted air traffic. However, the authorities quickly responded to the situation and ensured that safety protocols were followed during the incident.

Flights bound for Dubai, Sharjah and Karachi are scheduled to continue today as per scheduled flight schedules, airport officials assured.

The Air Accident Investigation Board team immediately carried out inspections and the aircraft involved in the incident was removed from the taxiway for assessment. Under the leadership of the airport administrator, efforts were made to ensure the smooth operation of the runway.

Flights were gradually resumed from 19:50 on Thursday, which meant a rapid recovery of airport traffic. Private airline flight ER-852 from Jeddah has successfully landed at Bacha Khan Airport.
