Azam Khan not serious about playing international cricket: Hafeez

Former national team manager and captain Muhammad Hafeez has expressed his opinion on wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan’s ability to play international cricket.

Speaking on local TV, former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez said that Azam Khan needs to work hard for his fitness. The entire Pakistani team could cover a distance of 2 kilometers in 10 minutes, while Azam Khan needed 20 minutes to cover the same distance.

He said that Azam Khan is not serious about playing international cricket.

Hafeez said being skinny or slightly overweight is not a problem, but he has to adapt to the demands of the game. As a team manager, he made a plan, but Azam Khan did not improve.

Hafeez said that although he is in the team because of his skills, he has to take responsibility for his fitness. Azam Khan is the only one in the team whose fitness remains in doubt.

Azam Khan’s failure to perform effectively during England’s tour and the opening match of the T20 World Cup led to him being dropped from the playing eleven.
