The President was informed that in the first four months of the year, 5,357 crimes against people were committed against 5,259 people, representing a decrease of 1,725 cases in the same period in 2023. Crimes against property were 10,757 in 2024 and 9,782 in 2023, an increase of 975 cases. Similarly, local and special cases showed a reduction of 785 cases by reporting 94,040 cases.
To a question, President Zardari said that in January 252.32 street crimes were reported and in February the number of street crimes was 251.96. The street crime trend decreased in March and April when 243.35 and 166.2 cases were reported respectively.
To another question, the president said that out of 48 street crimes that resulted in 49 deaths, 43 were arrested and 13 resulted in 13 deaths. Similarly, from 136 cases where 174 people were injured, 49 were arrested, 114 were accused and nine people died.
