KOHAT: The World Environment Day was celebrated in Pakistan and the rest of the world, which aimed to create awareness among people about environmental improvement and eradication of pollution.

Like, every year, this year, Water and Sanitation Service Company Kohat (WSSCK) in collaboration with Kohat University of Science and Technology (KUST), Kohat organised an awareness walk on eve of the International Environment Day.

This year, the environment Day theme was “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”, according to a press release issued here on Wednesday.

Vice Chancellor of KUST Prof Dr Naseeruddin, PRO of Journalism and Mass Communication Department KUST Lecturer Rasheed Ishaq, Director Administration Asad Habib, Director Finance Zafar Khan, Event Manager Hafiz Roheala, WSSCK Manager Media and Communication Asma Ali, along with intern of KUST and students were participated in the awareness walk.

Dr. Nasiruddin while addressing the participants of the walk said that the whole world is currently facing environmental pollution issues.

He said the environmental pollution issue is increasing day by day to an alarming level, which is causing deadly epidemics among people, along with the spread of diseases, there are also some lives that are being wiped out.

We have to take concrete steps to save our environment and use all the resources, he stressed.
