WSSCK finalises sanitation and cleanliness plan for Eid UL Azha

PESHAWAR: The Water and Sanitation Services Kohat (WSSCK) has chalked a comprehensive sanitation and cleanliness plan for Eid UL Azha.

The company has cancelled holidays of the entire sanitation and other staff.

In this connection, a meeting was held under chairmanship of WSSCK CEO Arif Rauf here on Monday, said in a press release.

The meeting attended by heads and field supervisors of all departments, in which special sanitation plan for Eid UL Azha finalized.

The meeting told that staff of WSSCK will be remained on duty on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to ensure timely disposal of animal waste and uninterrupted water supply to the citizens.

Arif Rauf said the entire staff holidays canceled to ensure timely disposal of sacrificial animal remains and uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water to citizens.

He said that around 550 cleaning staff and 100 small and big vehicles will be participated in the special cleaning campaign of Eid-ul-Azha.

Senior official said WSSCK has allocated 232 collection points and 22 major transfer stations in its jurisdiction to collect the garbage from where the garbage will be taken to the dumping ground by vehicles on the three days of Eid and for the safe disposal of the garbage.

CEO further said the work of digging a pit in the dumping ground has already been started.

Arif Rauf said that in order to inform the people of Kohat about the special plan of Eid-ul-Adha, the organization will broadcast a radio program as well as display banners on the main roads of Kohat city.

The media team will also distribute awareness pamphlets and dissolvable bags in different areas, the official said.

Along with this, a special request has been made to religious clerics in the sermons of Friday and Eid-ul-Adha about throwing the carcasses of sacrificial animals at designated places, the importance of cleanliness, saving water and the cooperation of the public with the staff of WSSC Kohat, the CEO Arif Rauf said.

The Complaint Center of WSSC Kohat will be remained open on all three days of Eid and the people of urban areas of Kohat can call the helpline number 1334 and register their complaints which will be redressed immediately.
