On the occasion of the 20th annual Guinness World Records Day, the world’s tallest and shortest women met for the first time in London.
Rumaisa Gelgi, a 27-year-old Turkish web developer, and Jyoti Amge, an Indian actress, met at a hotel in London.
Speaking about the occasion, Gelgi jokingly said that due to the height difference, it was sometimes difficult for them to make eye contact while talking. However, she added that it was a wonderful and amazing experience for both of them. Furthermore, they discovered that they had much in common.
30-year-old Amge, who is 62.8 cm (2 feet 1 inch) tall, holds the record as the shortest living woman, while Gelgi, at 215.16 cm (7 feet 1 inch), holds the Guinness World Record for the tallest living woman.
Gelgi has a rare condition known as Weaver syndrome, which causes rapid growth and bone abnormalities. On the other hand, Amge, who played the role of Ma Petite in the American TV series American Horror Story, suffers from a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.
