A caffeine enthusiast from the United States has set a Guinness World Record by collecting 1,019 cans of energy drinks.
Jol Spears, from Rhode Island, submitted proof of his record to the record-keeping organization, which officially confirmed that he now holds the largest collection of energy drink cans.
Jol said, “I never imagined I would have a Guinness World Record for anything. My YouTube channel started to become successful, and I kept collecting cold drink cans. At one point, I wondered how many I had accumulated. I then counted them, and it turned into a world record.”
Jol, who started his YouTube channel almost six years ago to review energy drinks, described the process of applying for the record as an unexpectedly exciting experience.
He added, “I had to video record every can for the record submission, and I had to take pictures of each one. I didn’t know they needed an itemized list for each can. It took me a lot of time to type the itemized list. It was a long process, but the hard work paid off.”
