Alex Hartley, the spinner who helped England win the World Cup and is now a broadcaster, revealed that after criticizing the fitness of players in the Women’s T20 World Cup, some members of the women’s team refused to give her interviews.
England’s women’s team faced a defeat at the hands of the West Indies in the T20 World Cup, which raised concerns about their fitness. The English team was eliminated in the early stages of the tournament.
Following the criticism of the English women cricketers, several players, including Sophie Ecclestone, declined Hartley’s request for interviews. Speaking on BBC’s TMS podcast, Hartley shared that she wanted to interview Ecclestone, but the left-arm spinner rejected her request, labeling it “hypocritical.”
Hartley also claimed that other cricketers from the team refused to speak after the fitness criticism, despite the fact that all they wanted was to see their team fight for victories in tournaments and matches.
It’s noteworthy that Alex Hartley previously served as a coach for Multan Sultans in the 9th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
