In today’s world, the idea of living without a mobile phone for most people is terrifying. But could you keep your smartphone away from yourself for a few hours without feeling anxious?
It may be hard to believe, but a woman in China managed to keep her mobile phone away from herself for 8 hours during a competition and didn’t show any signs of anxiety. For this feat, she won 10,000 yuan (over 383,000 Pakistani rupees).
This unique competition took place at a shopping center in the southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing. A total of 100 participants applied for the competition, and 10 were selected.
Each of the selected participants had to spend 8 hours on a new bed without their mobile phones. They were not allowed to use any electronic devices, including tablets and laptops, during the competition.
In case of an emergency, they were allowed to use old mobile phone models that could only make calls. They were also restricted from getting up from the bed, although they could go to the toilet, but had to return within 5 minutes.
Participants were also prohibited from sleeping on the bed or showing signs of anxiety. Food and drinks were provided to them on the bed.
Most participants spent their time reading or resting with their eyes closed. However, a woman named Dong was declared the winner with a score of 88.99 out of 100.
According to the organizers, Dong spent the most time on the bed without experiencing deep sleep and showed the least signs of anxiety. Dong is a sales manager and enjoys teaching children in her free time. She rarely browses the internet on her mobile phone.
