In fact, this marks the third consecutive year that Google has held the number one position, followed by Facebook in second place and Apple in third.
It is noteworthy that for many years, the title of the most popular website has consistently gone to Google. However, in 2021, TikTok surprisingly surpassed Google to become the most popular website.
But in 2022, TikTok’s dominance over sites like Google and Facebook ended, and in 2023, it couldn’t regain its position. This year, TikTok remained in fourth place.
Amazon Web Services ranked fifth, while Microsoft came in sixth. Instagram secured the seventh spot, YouTube was eighth, Amazon took the ninth place, and for the first time, WhatsApp appeared in the tenth position.
In the category of generative artificial intelligence, OpenAI held the top position for the second consecutive year.
The report also highlighted that internet traffic in 2024 saw a 17% increase compared to the previous year, driven by interest in AI technology and the growing number of smart devices.
Moreover, the most used web browser in 2024 was Google Chrome, with 65.73% of users opting for it. As for search engines, Google maintained its dominance, being used for 88.5% of internet searches.
