Netflix’s most popular Korean series “Squid Game” has officially announced the release date for its third season. According to the announcement from Netflix, “Squid Game” Season 3 will premiere on June 27. Along with this announcement, a new poster and images for the third season have also been released.
In the new season, Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) continues his story, joining the dangerous game again for a personal purpose. He faces the loss of his close friend, the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who had secretly participated in the game while concealing his identity.
The new season will also reveal the fates of the surviving players who went through the intense trials in the previous season.
The series creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, expressed his happiness, saying, “I am glad that the seeds I planted while creating this new season are now bearing fruit. I will make every effort to present another thrilling story.”
It is worth noting that this thriller series tells the story of 456 people who risk their lives for a prize of 45.6 billion Korean Won. Since its debut in 2021, the first season became Netflix’s most-watched show. Meanwhile, Season 2, which was released on December 26, 2023, set a new record for the most-watched season in the first week of its release, and fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the third season.
